The soundtrack of the third installment broadens old themes whilst creating new ones in an effort to bring renewed life to one of the most epic horror scores ever written. The general atmosphere is one of dread, yet the record includes some groove laden moments reminiscent of Escape From New York or some of Carpenter’s other more dance-able scores. Exquisite and delicate ambient pieces weave their way between some of the score’s more arresting moments and yet maintain a subtle pop sensibility. Waxwork Records is a New Orleans based record label specializing in the release of classic cinema, horror, cult, and sci-fi film scores in the highest quality LP packages available. Waxwork revisits the original source master tapes for every release. Often times, these original masters are thought to have been lost, even destroyed, for decades. The master tapes are tracked down by the label, re-mixed, and re-mastered by former White Zombie guitarist Jay Yuenger. All Waxwork titles are pressed to 180 gram audiophile grade vinyl and housed in heavy old style casebound tip-on jackets.
