Both the series and the game were hugely successful for DC, and Injustice Gods Among Us: Year Two, a 12-Issue Maxi-Series, soon followed in 2014. Subsequent years would see Year Three, Year Four and Year Five published, as well as Injustice Vs. Masters of the Universe. While featuring the same characters as DC's Gods Among Us comics series, Injustice 2 (2017) follows only in the continuity of the video game sequel and not the other comic book series that greatly expanded the Gods Among Us story during the four year gap between video game releases. As its own entity, Injustice 2 enjoyed a solid run of 36 issues, with its final issue published in December 2018.
