But this lovely representation from the turn-of-the-last-century has a gentleness and sweetness to it that we are particularly fond of. Many cultures have images of the Child Jesus as objects of devotion. Teresa of Avilla always made sure they had a statue of the Infant of Prague in her convent, especially in times of financial need. Often there is a maxim on the infant, "The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you." It is a good reminder of how we are to seek the Lord-not to be paid by Him-but for His own sake.
