Description: Presented today is this very unusual Kachina sculpture, featuring the Antelope. Standing 2 and a half inches tall, it is the work of Andrea Slivers, daughter of the legendary Henry Shelton. Andrea is a primitivist artist, and her work shows a simplistic vitality. Her work is quite distinctive, with a rustic charm. She was taught carving by her mother, Mary Shelton, a few years before Mary passed away. One of her early specialties were very small Kachina dolls, usually setting on a drum. Her work has charming innocence, utterly devoid of pretense. And it is also extremely modestly priced. For all its simplicity, her work is always popular and well received at the annual art show at the Heard , in Phoenix, where she shows, every year. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always, Best Regards, Mary
