Description: Here's a most unusual American hooked rug. Stylistically it's a cross-over inspired by southwestern Navajo rug designs. There are three Yei figures, females I think, and corn stalks inside a brown and white border. I'm selling this rug as I found it: as is with several small holes and a pull. Please look at the pictures closely and note the losses. I'm certain these areas could be restored by a professional but I'm selling the rug as found. This is a fairly large rug measuring 78 inches long (6 foot 6 inches) X 32 inches wide. I think it was made in the northeast and perhaps copied or inspired by a real Native American rug. Certainly there is a cool story about this rug that is lost in time. This is the first hooked rug I've owned or seen with true Navajo rug designs. The rendition appeals to me even though it's difficult to place this rug in a particular category. There it is, as is.
