Description: Offering the complete original Cover of Verve Henri Matisse, 1958, Vol XI, no 35-36. The first lithographic plates were printed in french in the year 1954 shortly after Henri Matisse's passing by Tériade and printing was completed in 1958. Following this, Harcourt, Brace and company, N.Y. were given the rights for printing the Northern American Verve Matisse version. The Northern American cover is different from the French cover, as it has the Henri Matisse plate signed signature ( photo 1,2 and 3) on the front cover (see my Ebay adv. of the original French cover) over the complete diagonal. The original French cover shows the signature in the plate on the verso side, small, just in the left hand corner. The inside of the cover is shown in photo 4, showing parts of the inner pages attachments on the spine (of the removed pages) as well as a blue sticker with text " Wittenborn Art books, 101B Madison Ave, NY 21". The Cover is in very good condition and has never been framed. Upon request and if still available, I could add several "of your choice" or all 32 b/w Heliographs against addional payment.
