This stunning clock chimes the hours and strikes once for the half hour, when the second left hand side spring is wound. Original key and pendulum. This is a very solid and heavy clock of the highest quality. Its currently keeping excellent time. Signed GV 178 93366 58 Dimensions: 31 cm tall (12") 19.5 wide (8") 12.5 cm deep (5") Weight: 4.5 kg. The case was meticulously cleaned and polished and very light, bright, and shiny when we acquired it, it is now settling onto a darker patina, it will eventually go dark brown with yellow brass ornaments if left to age naturally. Or you can clean it with brass polish if you prefer a brighter effect. About: Emile Gay was listed in 1861 with premises at 20 Red Lion Square, London.
