Description: FROM THE BACK OF THE POST CARD: FRANCONIA Launched 21st Oct. 1922 at John Brown's shipyard on Clydebank. The 20,000 ton ship was built for the Liverpool-New York run but she undertook cruises from New York in winter. During the Second World War she carried out trooping duties and in 1945 was used as headquarters ship for the Yata Conference between Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. Her final voyage was in 1956.
