Thriving in partial to full shade, it's well-suited for USDA zones 5 to 9. This beautiful and cold hardy clumping or noninvasive bamboo prefers moist, well-drained soil and resists harsh winter conditions, making it ideal for a variety of climates. Thrives in areas from Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, to Tennessee, Missouri, Idaho, South Carolina, Oregon and Washington State. Does not do well in the hot and humid South East States.
