Description: For you consideration is a pretty bone china tea cup & saucer from Shelley China. It's history starts in the 1860's and ended in 1966 when absorbed by another companythat went on to produce Royal Albert. This particular set is extremely rare and acollector's find. During the war years and later, Shelley occasionally cooperated with a few other potteries.allowing them to add their own decoration to their famous bone china. There is at leastone stamp that has been identified as an uncooperative connection. This would be thePeacock China Pottery, where it is clear they attempted to cover the green Shelley markwith their own large black peacock mark. The saucer shows the large black peacock stamp over-riding the green Shelly stamp. The Shelley stamp can be clearly seen using a loop. This set is in nice condition. There is light wear to the gilt, and a few small utensil marks. There are no chips orcracks. The design is floral and retains the beautiful scalloped Shelley design withthe very large open cup. The cup stands 2" tall and is 4" across. The saucer measures5 6/8" across. The cup does not have the Shelley mark. Please see photos. SHIPPING TO CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES ONLY
