Description: Here is a true tough card, one of my favorites that I have ever owned! It's a Derek Jeter 1997 Topps Gallery Peter Max Serigraphs Signature Series autographed insert (#1). That gold autograph is a facsimile that adorns every one of the ten inserts from this set, but that black autograph is a true autograph from the reclusive artist, Peter Max, himself! He signed this card on the front in black ink, and the autograph is UNDER the uv-coating card on the card...why is that important? Beckett's website states the following: "Randomly inserted in packs at a rate of one in 1200, this 10-card limited edition set features player renditions by the artist, Peter Max, with his authentic autograph. An announced quantity of 40 copies per card was produced. The cards are identical in design to the far more common unsigned versions - except of course for the artist's signature. Max signed the cards before the UV coating was applied. Thus, the only way to avoid buying a forgery is to closely view the autograph to make sure it's beneath the glossy coating." The good news is that now eBay will be the 3rd party who authenticates this card once purchased, so you are either buying the real deal, or I will be proven a liar, and you would get your money back!
