Description: Handmade Drum with 4 Dancing Yei Figures and Corn Plant Designs by Navajo Artist Glen Nez. This new 8-sided drum was actually made at Cochiti Pueblo and then painted by Navajo artist Glen Nez. The design is taken from a sand painting used in Navajo healing ceremonies and features 4 dancing Yei figures and corn plants. It has a wood frame and a rawhide head. A beater is included. It measures approximately 7" across x 2" high. Glen lives in Shiprock, New Mexico and a tag with his photo is included. An interesting work of art that would look great in any collection. While we have had some buyers use these drums in dances, we cannot guarantee that the paint will not come off if heavily beaten and are selling them as a work of art and not as a musical instrument.
