Description: Here's a heavy wool robe from Ladakh. This vintage brick red coat was custom made for my Buddhist friend in the 1980s. She calls it a guncha. It features a deep v-neck with a bib, a gathered waistband and an open skirt with two side slits. The top closes with four hooks along the edge of the bib. The edges of the garment are trimmed in medium green cotton. There is a single pocket on the right side. Please examine all photos carefully. This is a handmade garment with traditional construction--for example the waist band is gathered by thick thread woven through the folds. There was only one flaw noted on the coat, one tiny snagged thread near the lower right back. Two sashes are included, however, both are damaged with holes and stains (they have been hand washed). I recommend getting new sashes. Labeled size: NA Compare the actual garment measurements below to your own clothing (not your body) to determine fit. Measurements have been taken with the garment lying flat, and have not been doubled.
