Many of the 300 or so processes and techniques that our craftsmen employ have been largely unaltered over time. Sustainable Sourcing All of our hides and skins are by-products of the food industry and have traceable provenances. Leather is 100% biodegradable and post-consumer recyclable. Bontoni has developed long-standing strategic partnerships with a number of local and regional tanneries. These leather suppliers have been at the forefront of developing innovative ways to limit the impact of tanning on the environment. Each of our tannery partners adheres to the strictest local and European eco-friendly practices. By choosing suppliers that uphold the highest socially responsible and ethical standards, together we will protect the planet and make it a better place for future generations. Our workshop is more than just a place to work: as one of the last remaining home-based artisan workshops in Italy, the building also serves as our family home. Over the years, we have integrated an increasing number of environmentally friendly practices into our day-to-day operations. This includes, for example, the installment of more energy-efficient windows, HVAC systems, and fluorescent LED lighting as well as reducing and recycling waste.
