Bobby Darin: 18 Yellow Roses/Not For Me 1963 Capitol 4970 Scranton Pressing VG++

Description: For sale is a 45 RPM vinyl single from Bobby Darin titled "18 Yellow Roses b/w Not For Me'", originally released in 1963 by Capitol Records. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve, then into a storage box for seven inch 45 RPM vinyl records, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity until today. The archival inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers G-4/G-4, followed by "IAM" inside a triangle, (IAM stands for the International Association of Machinists who were the union workers at the pressing plant where this record was made), indicating that early stampers were used to make this record at Capitol Records' pressing plant, located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. The vinyl is visually graded between Very Good Plus and Excellent because of superficial sleeve marks and hairlines, none of which can be felt with a fingertip. I'm play grading this record as Excellent because of occasional low levels of surface noise, none of which over-powers the vocals or the music. It plays all the way through without any pops, skips or lock-ups from start to finish. You would be hard pressed to find a copy of this record in this condition, especially a Scranton first pressing.
