Description: Antique 19th century child's sleigh/sled made of wood with cast iron runners. Please look closely at the pictures for an accurate understanding of condition. The sled is complete without any visible repairs or structural damage. The overall length is 41", the seat is 11" wide x 26 1/2" long, and the seat sits 6" above the ground. The tips of the runners curve upwards, making the overall height approx 7" tall. The attached rope is not original to the sled, although it is old, it looks to be woven window sash cord from the first half of the 20th century. The surfaces have the original hand painted decoration, which is a simple, delicate border stripe design. the edges of the seat show plenty of wear from use, so this isn't a toy that never got used. All of the hardware is attached with period-correct screws that appear as old as the hardware, itself, so I assume they are also original. Please message with any questions.
