Description: As found. This leather bound book was first released in 1896 just 2 years Robert Louis Stevenson died suddenly from a cerebral hemorrhage and is unfinished due to his death. This copy is dated 1920 and published by Charles Scribner’s Sons, New York. The internet says this particular publishing of his has often praised this as a potential masterpiece. There are stains on the front, back and binding of the leather. The binding is also discolored possibly sun-bleached. The first page, was at some point, stuck together with the page before it on the bottom 2”, and is now tearing but not out of the book, just where they are stuck together. The pages are nice, crisp and clean and there are no loose or missing pages that I can see. The top edge is gilded, but the other edges are not or have faded dramatically. It’s a smaller book, measuring 6 1/2” tall and 4 1/4” long. See photos for details. Please message with any questions. Thank you! BD-PFRE
