This carving set was made for the French market, certified by the presence on the handles of a “charençon” or weevil (Charançon in French), the hallmark used in France between 1864 and 1893 for imported items with a silver content between 80% and 100%. The steel blade of the knife is stamped “Paris”. The upper parts of the fork and the gigot holder are chrome plated. Offered in its original case, this carving set is in good condition, with the exception of a few signs of wear on the chrome plating and faint scratches and small dents on the silver cladding.
