Description: For sale is a neat pottery dog. Attributed to Crooksville Ohio. This form is often either attributed or signed Crooksvlle. They made the dogs in several different glazes, some spongeware. It looks a little bit like sewer tile glaze and form but its white clay. Probably earthenware. I have seen cream colored stuff cataloged as sewer tile circa 1900. This does seem older. 1885-1915 range. Recently found in Ohio. Looks like a Saint Bernard. Mottled glaze. Neat brown glaze. Has some speckled spots on it. Solid body. Heavy. Weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces. About 8 inches tall. Condition: Nice overall condition. Has 2 small chips on the front feet. Also has some separation lines on the bottom from when it was made. Has lots of areas where the glaze didn't fully cover the piece. This is mostly along the bottom on the feet and legs. But you can see some on its face and neck. No cracks. No restoration. All original. See photos and video.
