Description: This is a rare program promoting the one-night, Benefit Performance of the JULE STYNE and STEPHEN SONDHEIM musical comedy revival of "GYPSY" at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Tuesday evening, July 16th, 1974. The Benefit Performance was presented by the Women's Auxiliary of the Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. (Following an extended tour, the revival would open September 23rd, 1974 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and run for 120 performances.) ..... The musical starred ANGELA LANSBURY as "Mama Rose" (the role originated by ETHEL MERMAN in 1959) and featured REX ROBBINS, ZAN CHARISSE, MARY LOUISE WILSON, GLORIA ROSSI, MAUREEN MOORE, JOHN SHERIDAN, JOHN C.
