Description: A stunning eye catching collection of two silverplate trophies with substantial presence and eye catching ornate neoclassical design. Very rare to find these types of trophies. Trophy One Washington Post baseball league trophy dating from the 1920s. Produced by Wallace, this piece has a neoclassical Grecian design. The top features panels of warriors and maidens celebrating victory. The side handles have nice ornate flourishes with delicate arms. The urn shape is distinct and highly decorative. The lid has an ornate topper and is removable. Measures 21 inches high to top of finial and 16.75 inches high to top of vase. The top of opening is 5 inches in diameter, the interior is gold washed. The bottom diameter is 5.5 inches and is 11.25 inches wide handle to handle. Good condition with beautiful untouched dark aged patina. There are some signs of wear and light dents to body and top lid but nothing of note that distracts from the presentation. Please review photos for further assessment.
