Description: What a wonderful series! Heartwarming, funny, quirky, beautiful. I first saw these in 1983 on PBS, then again around 1990. I still warm to the sight of Carol Drinkwater’s lovely smile and loving eyes, as Helen. Robert Hardy as Siegfried continues to be joyfully outrageous. But now I’m old and not likely to watch them again. Great for kids if they don’t mind a bit of real veterinary surgery and arms thrust into cows nearly up to the armpit and calves and lambs just born.
