The heart of the PVS-7 is a Gen 3 IIT 3AL1 an image intensifier tube that delivers the highest, cleanest resolution offered by AGM with practically zero spots in zone 1. This image intensifier tube also provides significantly greater resolution when compared to the Gen 2 version, and an auto-gating function delivers clear visuals while in infrequent and sudden changes of light. Image quality is further enhanced thanks to the Automatic Brightness Control (ABC), which adjusts the image brightness in changing light conditions to maintain superior image definition and clarity. For applications involving moonless/starless nights or in environments of extreme darkness, the PVS-7 features in integrated IR illuminator to provide a light source beyond the visible spectrum and allow the user to operate undetected. Other features of the PVS-7 include an automatic bright-light shut off, which protects the photosensitive image tube from damaging intense light.
