First published in 1879 in England by Longmans, Green & Co., this American edition does not have a copyright or printing date, but the name of a former owner in the front is dated Apr. 12, 1880, so I am confident this book was also printed at the same time as the English edition.Nicely bound in beveled boards, with gilt lettering on the spine and a small blind-stamped device on the front cover. Contains several colored maps, 2 of which fold-out. Charts and a few illustrations.This comprehensive guide provides readers with an in-depth understanding of the Bible. The Conder brothers offer a historical and cultural context to the text. For nearly all of our books, we use a specially designed boxing system from IPS (Inovative Packaging Solutions) located in York, PA. These media shipping boxes are designed to conform to the size of the book, securing it and preventing it from bumping around during shipping. The end result is a box which provides a double thickness of cardboard covering the front and back of the book; actually almost like a box within a box. The outer layer of cardboard extends beyond the ends of the inner "box" which very efficiently protects the corners of the book from being bumped and damaged by the sometimes rough handling packages receive in transit. In addition we place the book in a plastic bag to help guard against moisture if a package is left out in the elements.Delivery: We aim to get all books shipped within 24 hours of order except on weekends. We can't control the delivery time once a book leaves our hands, but most of the time USPS is prompt in delivery, and the expected delivery time given by eBay is usually fairly accurate. Because we use media mail to keep costs down, it does take a little longer for delivery, and occasionally packages get delayed in the mail system.
