Description: This listing is for a metal lens hood to fit normal focal length lenses. It is made of black anodized aluminum with an anti-glare coating on the inside. Screws into the accessory thread on the front of the lens. Fits virtually any brand. Compatibility: Intended for lenses with a focal length of 50mm, but this type of hood will cover from about 40mm to 60mm. If you use this type hood on a wide-angle lens it may vignette and you'll get dark corners of your image. If you use it on a telephoto lens it may be too shallow to be effective at preventing flare. Make sure you check the accessory thread diameter on your lens and don't confuse it with the lens focal length. The thread size is denoted by the Greek letter phi Φ. If all else fails you can look at the back of your lens cap and it should have the size listed. Note: Check out our other listings for other types and sizes.
