2014 TOKELAU $5 YEAR OF THE HORSE (BU) 1oz .999 FINE SILVER; WILD HORSES

Description: 2014 TOKELAU - $5 - 5 DOLLARS – YEAR OF THE HORSE (BU) 5 Dollars - Elizabeth II (Year of the Horse) 2014 Non-circulating coin: Chinese Lunar Year Silver (.999) • 31.1035 g • ⌀ 38.61 mm KM# 71, Mintage: 250,000 CONDITION: Since the coin came to me without any packaging or information I have to assume that this is the (BU) variety of the coin. It also was minted as a Proof, Reverse Proof, and Antiqued, so to stay on the safe side I'm saying this coin is (BU). However, the real nice thing about this coin is it looks like a matte finish, so if some coins can be proof-like, I'd like to say this coin is matte-like, though there is no such thing, and this is playful fantasy, the coin still has a very nice finish. I'm not sure how well that comes out in the photos, so take it for what it's worth, you'll be pleasantly surprised to see the finish on this coin, but, to be clear, it is the (BU) variety, it does not have a matte-like finish. It is a very nice coin, I believe it would grade probably in the mid MS level probably closer to a 64. There is a slight scuff in the upper left quadrant of the reverse and the date shows some wear, also some light tan toning is beginning to form around the rim on the reverse. The Obverse has some minor actors as well, but I can't get past that finish, it really has a gorgeous finish. What I see on the obverse is what looks like a light fingerprint under the date, not dark enough to disturb the eye appeal of the obverse, and then only under magnification you can see a very small minor scratch between the word FIVE in the legend and the queen's bust. Other wise that's honestly what I see, with and without magnification. Overall, I believe most collector's would be very happy with this coin, especially those who like horses, the horses engraved and minted in this coin are, frankly, beautiful. The coin comes with some minor imperfections, but like I said above I feel it is deserving of a mid level MS grade. Please, take your time to look closely at the pictures, I believe you'll find some enjoyment in this piece. This is the subjective opinion of a hobbyist and collector, not a professional, and you should even scrutinize a professional opinion, because there is no clear objective science behind the gradation of coins, it is all a matter of opinion.
