Description: Payment | Shipping | Policies 19th Century French Oak Sideboard - Cabinet; Henri II Renaissance Revival Stunning late 19th century French Renaissance Revival - in France known as "Henri II" style - buffet/cabinet. Oak solids and veneers, with raised moldings on the doors. Three part cabinet - base, center support/plate rack and upper cabinet. Nice warm medium brown color on oak, with a smooth matte finish. The base has a single shelf, while the upper has brackets, but no shelf present. In exceptional antique condition - structurally perfect. Clean, even color overall. A few minor marks and spots to the top surface, but this piece has very little to apologize for as it saw very little use. One of the columns on the upper cabinet has a small chip (please see photos). The drawers open and close smoothly, and the lock secures both. There are three keys - the upper key does not turn, it is for opening and closing only. The drawers key works perfectly. The base key turns and secures both doors, after the left door is latched on the inside with a hook mounted at the front of the center shelf. Great piece, and in a scarce narrower size. We've handled many of these, and they are usually oversized. Measurements: 89" tall. The cornice is 44" wide and 15" deep. The upper cabinet is 41" wide and 13.5" deep. The base cabinet's top is 45" wide and 21.5" deep. The base cabinet is 42" wide and 20.5" deep. The measurements for the projecting trim just above the feet are appx. the same as the base's top.
