Description: 1990s CABOUCHON JEWELLERY 18K Plated Pierced Earrings METALLIC BROWN Enamel Surrounding a Large Faux Pearl (Faux Mabe) In good preowned vintage condition. For pierced ears. About 3/4" long. Earrings are round with a circle of metallic brown tone enamel surrounding a large faux pearl (faux Mabe). I am the original owner. Purchased in the very early 1990s. Style is mid to late 1980s/early 1990s. Minor signs of wear and some plating loss. See photographs and read about the maker below. One earring weighs 4.66 grams, the other weighs 4.71 grams. Weighed with the bullet backs on the posts. Although you're free to use any post back you like, I'm including the original bullet backs, which I have cleaned (vinegar bath). Length (diameter) of earring is about 3/4 inch. I'm the original owner. Purchased these earrings in the early 1990s (ca 1991-1993). A colleague of mine knew the founder (this was a UK company) and became one of the company's 'agents' in Frankfurt, Germany, which is where I worked at the time. Over time, I acquired a mini-collection, some of which I am now listing for sale. CABOUCHON JEWELLERY was a West London-based high end costume jewellery company, founded by Petra Doring, that sold ("direct-selling") via agents across most of Europe. Cabouchon Jewellery operated from 1990 until 1997 (the firm ended in bankruptcy). The firm had its creations manufactured in the Far East. Their jewellery is triple plated with either gold, silver or rhodium; Swarovski and Austrian crystals were used along with faux pearls. Their earrings are nickel-free.The pieces are not signed and the company name only appeared on the paper tags attached to the pieces upon purchase. As the costume pieces were of quite good quality, the firm attracted a number of celebrity clients over the years it was in business. P.S.
