Description: Offered is a vintage 1956 Postcard featuring the Non-Profit Organization, Volunteers of America, and its Service to the Needy, specifically that provided by the Cleveland, Ohio Local Affiliate. * Founded in 1896 by Ballington Booth, Son of the Founder of The Salvation Army. There was a "family not seeing eye to eye" scenario at work. The organization remains one of the most formidable charitable entities in the United States. There is a focus on affordable housing that began during the years of the Great Depression. A Rare PC. ** This unused PC from the Curt Teich Archives is essentially "new", in Near Mint condition (slight age toning). The postcard comes from the Curt Teich Archives. The card has been in our possession for approximately 15+ years ... long before the Curteich digitally archived images found their permanent home with The Newberry Institute. At the time of our acquisition, the Lake County Discovery Museum in IL was the custodian of the company's records, having served in that capacity since 1982.
