NOTE: shipping price includes secure double boxing and full insurance. DESCRIPTION: Vintage stool / ottoman in Mid Century Modern style. By DUNBAR. Designed by Edward Wormley. Solid mahogany, upholstery. Square ottoman. Tapering legs, knobbed feet, tapering X stretcher. Chromed steel glides. Maker's marks: none (reupholstered at some point). 1950s. I recently acquired this ottoman from the estate of the original owner. All sides are represented in the photos. CONDITION: BASE: The base of the stool is in excellent condition -- freshly professionally refinished (due only to typical use-related wear -- the base did not require repair or other restoration). No cracks, splits, chips, separations, joint looseness. No stains or discolorations. No scuffs, rubs, scratches, dings, dents. The glides are clean with no corrosion. On very close inspection you may find faint evidence of pre-refinish wear: a few scattered small surface dings. Nothing at all significant or conspicuous. Base displays as new. UPHOLSTERY: The ottoman was reupholstered at some point and I left the upholstery as found. The ottoman will require reupholstery due to typical age-related hardening of the cushioning and use-related wear and staining to the fabric.
