Description: Please find presented a proof like 1950 Canada Silver Dollar with Arnprior water lines. This particular coin also has the additional unique benefit of being a rotated die (the voyager canoe is off axis). This rare 1950 Canada silver dollar features toned edged and appears proof like throughout. I have not cleaned the coin and it doesn’t appear to be cleaned recently but that can not be guaranteed. Only 261k 1950 Canada silver dollars were minted, just barely over the 1940s “key date” production numbers and quite lower than the rare 400k minted in the 1935 kickoff year. What is Arnprior? Why is it rare and significant? The term Arnprior comes from the town in Ontario where the variety was discovered. Actually, the town placed an order with the Royal Canandian mint for the Dollars for a promotional event but the mint had no dollars on hand. So the mint reworked some used dies and went into production. The result is the Arnprior Dollars most of which were released in and around Arnprior, Ontario Canada.
