Was a German variety artist (whistle artist; umelec piskani).LifeGuido Gialdini was probably born as Kurt Abramowitz in Berlin in 1878. After completing an apprenticeship as a businessman, he worked as a lingerie dealer before they noticed his extraordinary talent. Abramowitz could whistle flawlessly almost any melody he had ever heard, whether it was a folk song, an operatic aria or the latest ragtime. He also worked with other artists, for whose singing or speaking he whistled. The still young recording industry soon became aware of this, because the whistle sound, like the banjo or wind instruments, was particularly well suited for the acoustical recording with a funnel and a membrane at that time.So there were soon many Edison cylinders and gramophone records with pieces that had been whistled by Kurt Abramowitz. Before the First World War, Abramowitz was a well-known figure in the international variety business.Even after the introduction of electrical recording technology with the microphone after 1925, his recordings remained in demand. Abramowitz also whistled on the radio. After the National Socialists came to power in 1933, there is little information left about him. In March 1935 recordings were made with the Billy Bartholomew Orchestra (Jig Club on Gloria 27032).The date of his death is unknown. If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING. Quick note on grading: The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise."EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing."VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing."Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise. These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment. Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel.
