Subject of portrait, born in 1866, was an accomplished Austrian medical doctor who visited in Bombay, India to help control a plague epidemic, and in turn died of that plague in 1898. Corner and edge wear as seen in photos. Corners and edges bumped, worn, missing material. Significant rippling visible on image side opposite from the postmark and stamp. Writing on image side, on image and borders. Creases on each corner, some caused by album corner mounts, some otherwise. Both postmarks raised on image side. Scuffing spotting image side.
