Description: 1896 GAIL BORDEN EAGLE BRAND CONDENSED MILK ADVERTISING SIGN ~ 3 Little Girls Click images to enlarge Description This is an original Victorian light cardboard advertising sign given to store keepers for display, along with the smaller matching trade cards for customers. Measures about 10-1/4" x 14-7/8". Subject is of little girls enjoying milk and crackers at a table. The paper label milk tin sits on the table. The fabric table cloth has an image of the eagle logo with Gail Borden Eagle Brand Condensed Milk around it. Reads at bottom "BEST FOOD FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN" In this lithograph art print store sign, the bottom right has the copyright date of 1896. It is in very good condition. There are some spots with missing top layers of paper, on the right side as shown. The back is in similar condition with some areas with a top layer of paper missing from age. Still has the original brass ring for attaching a piece of string to hang in a grocer's or druggist's store. The back has additional advertising, awards won, and reads: New York Condensed Milk Co., Lith. by Donaldson Brothers New York. Company changed name to Borden's Condensed Milk Co. in 1899.
