Description: This fantastic card was issued by the WM.S. Kimball & Co. as an insert premium in their brands of Tobacco and Cigarettes during 1889. These cards are from a fairly scarce series of 50 cards entitled , “Goddesses of the Greeks and Romans”. The front of the card features a colorful image of the Goddess, while the back features a list of the 50 Goddesses in the series. The Lithography for the card was done by the Ketterlinus Co. of New York and Philadelphia. These cards features KLOTHO ONE OF THE 3 DETINIES, BIRTH The Cards measures 2 ¾ inches by 1 ½ inches approximately. The cards does have corner wear, and some paper/print loss to the back. I have scanned the cards fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself. This card would make an excellent gift for anyone interested in Greek or Roman Mythology , or a great addition to and early American Tobacco Card collection . Don't miss out on this over 130 year old piece. As it is over 100 years old it qualifies as a true American Antique. They don't come up on e-bay too often.
