Description: Large original British Admiralty Chart: "Series IV - South America. Brazil - Chiefly from the French Surveys - From San Joao To Rio Mossoro, etcetera." Originally published is 1833, this chart corrected to March, 1866. Sheet size is 27 x 40 inches. Some small "chew" marks along vertical fold line; some slight "wrinkling" at top center border. This 157-year old map is in very good condition. Great detail; uncommon! This chart was once owned by a Sea Captain named Seth Doane. He would stay at the Astor House in Manhattan while ashore. That is about all I know of him. Shipped free in the U.S.
